
Dr. Om Prakash Appointed as Executive Member of the Hans Seidel Foundation
Varanasi: Dr. Om Prakash, Assistant Professor in the Department of German Studies, Banaras Hindu University, has been appointed as an Executive Member of the prestigious Hans Seidel Foundation. The university community has expressed pride in this significant achievement.
In his new role, Dr. Om Prakash will be responsible for formulating and developing proposals aimed at strengthening academic collaboration. He will also play a key role in identifying new avenues for research, academic exchange, and partnerships with national and international institutions.
Additionally, he will contribute to promoting alumni-led publications and providing them with a unified academic platform. His association with the Foundation is expected to open up new pathways of research, global exposure, and academic opportunities for students.
The Hans Seidel Foundation operates its intellectual and practical initiatives through five major departments. The Academy for Politics and Current Affairs conducts research on contemporary political, social, and international issues, while the Institute for Political Education organizes various training programs focused on civic education, democratic values, and leadership development.
The Institute for Scholarship Programs supports talented and socially committed young scholars through various scholarship schemes. The Institute for International Cooperation works globally on projects promoting good governance, democracy, community empowerment, and sustainable development. The Institute for European and Transatlantic Dialogue plays an important role in enhancing understanding and cooperation among Europe, the United States, and Canada.
These initiatives are supported by central administrative services, while the educational center at Banz Monastery and the conference center in Munich serve as key venues for dialogue, training, and intellectual exchanges.
The Foundation’s work is built on core themes such as the relationship between citizens and the state, balancing globalization with regional identity, Europe’s role in emerging global scenarios shaped by international conflicts and migration, growing individualism in society, and collective responsibility toward future generations.
