
BHU's Adolescent Clinic Hosts "Give to Gain" Session: Experts Discuss HPV Awareness, Gender Equality, and Men's Role in Women's Empowerment

On March 7, 2026, the Adolescent Clinic (Model-AFHC) hosted an enlightening event themed "Give to Gain" in anticipation of International Women's Day by Sathiya Kendra (OPD 201), Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS),Sir Sundarlal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), in joint collaboration with Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child, New Delhi and National Health Mission, UP Govt.. The session commenced with a warm welcome from Counsellor Harsh Kumar Singh, followed by insightful discussions led by esteemed resource persons, including Prof. Dr. Sangeeta Rai, HoD of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at IMS BHU; Prof. Dr. Mona Srivastava from the Department of Psychiatry; Prof. Dr. Manushi Shrivastava from Community Medicine; and Prof. Dr. Deepak Gautam from General Medicine.
Dr. Mona Srivastava emphasized the power of reciprocity and support, noting that when we give generously, we create opportunities for women to thrive. Dr. Sangeeta Rai focused on the importance of HPV awareness in preventing cervical cancer among women. Dr. Manushi highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day in addressing issues like equal pay and reproductive rights while celebrating women's achievements. Dr. Deepak Gautam discussed the vital role men play in promoting gender equality and supporting women's empowerment.
